I’m going to plant a little herb garden. Which plants could I plant now (from seed or seedling - I don’t mind which). It’s New Zealand early autumn now - but very mild.

I would like to plant swop especially any streptocarpus cuttings material or african violets cuttings materials.
Also I will give a home to plants or shrubs you don’t want rather than see them go to the tip.
I’m a plantaholic have not really got room for the ones I already have but that has never stopped me.

can i plant aquatic plants in garden soil IF i am not planning to put any fish in that pond i just want my cobomba, java fern etc. to grow fast i give it natural sunlight and rain. what sub straits should i add? is regular garden soil ok?

Ive just recently moved into a very old house, the thing is, I have this huge Rain Water Tank in my backyard which is great but unfortunately the roof and spouting is all aspestos so the water cannot be consumed. I want to know whether it is safe to use on my garden and pot plants.I have all this water just sitting there and would love to put it to use the way nature intended. PLEASE HELP.
