Garden Plant Pots

I live in on the 3rd floor of my apartment building and have a balcony. I wanted to start a small garden with some potted plants but I am not sure what would really work well. There is a big tree that is in front of my balcony so it only gets partial sun in the morning and then is in the shade most of the time.

I have this plant that was potted with outdoor’s dirt. There are actually bugs that you would see outside crawling among the dirt, giant green toadstools, etc. How would I go about repotting and riddening the plant of these pests. I am scratching as I write this. This is a very beautiful plant and I don’t want it to die or have to kill it because of these pests attacking other household plants.

which place would be cheaper for perennial plants home deop/lowes, a nursery, or an online store or somewhere else?

I want to reuse the water from my bath to water outside plants this summer I am astonished to discover that i use upto 200 litres of water in one bath every day here in England I am on a water meter and it is expensive. Will using this water with residual shampoo and soap in it damage or kill the plants?

I know nothing about gardening - hence asking on here. We have just moved in and have a rectagular heavy plant pot in our garden and want something to plant in it!

We want something that would grow quickly to fill the whole pot and like spill out (sorry i dont know the gardening term! and ideally look good through out the year.

Can anyone who knows about plants - help.

I was given a ladybird breeder for my birthday, its about a foot tall, and has a little roof, but i am unsure where abouts to put it to achieve maximum ladybird potential.

Our garden has all sorts of areas, trees open spaces, shrubs shadow and open sun spots, so there’s infinite choices for my placement of said ladybird house, so please help!

I just read that everyone keeps them in a pot, but mine in currently in the ground. Is that bad? Should I transfer it to a big pot? I live in Mid-Northern Cali. It has produced nice fruits/peppers already..

More specifically, when the perennials die, do you mark them so you know where they will sprout up in the spring?

I know absolutely nothing about plants. The plants that I was using have died after 2 years. They sat in 2 matching drinking glasses filled with small pebbles and all I had to do was water them, no other maintence was needed.
